Passacaglia by @igudesman written for Antoine Tamestit
Performed by James Preucil

From whole-tone scales to sustained minor second dissonances, this piece is absolutely wild. It was certainly a challenge to learn but incredibly fun to finally play. I’m planning to perform this at least a few times in the coming months on recitals. I hope you enjoy!

So happy to see (and hear) that you and your viola have recovered completely from the music stand incident. This was really well done. Bravo! 👏

Love the colors that the variety of techniques gives to this piece and how it flows in your performance! Very interesting the style to the narrative added by:
Sul ponticello curvy strokes in 4:20
Turning the tunning peg in 6:38

Beautiful piece and your technique looks so smooth! Loved it and the (for me) surprise elements of the different techniques.

Thank you! I find all the pieces in his violamania book very interesting and glad to see some performance on it.

Fantastic! That piece did not develop as I expected. It starts so pedestrian, yet evolves in fascinating ways I had not anticipated.

Beautiful. Do you learn on alto clef or treble clef?
