Показать описание
A group was recently successful in accomplishing a feat of artificial intelligence by devising a program that was able to accurately predict the shapes that proteins take based solely on sequences of amino acids. The company, DeepMind, has an interesting history — and their past and current success can help us to better understand not only what AI development might look like, but also how human consciousness works.
Famous dopamine experiment: Schultz, W., Dayan, P., & Montague, P. R. (1997). A Neural Substrate of Prediction and Reward. Science, 275(5306), 1593-1599. doi:10.1126/science.275.5306.1593
I'm a PhD in neuroscience at the University of Pennsylvania, and I think of this kind of like office hours with a teacher where you can discuss anything you find interesting.
I have a podcast, Wired to be Weird, about the brain with episodes devoted to specific topics - like why we dream & fall in love to why people develop dementia or déjà vu. You can get it wherever podcasts are found.
