Donald Trump has gone back to the policy focus that launched him into the presidency in 2016 by placing immigration at the heart of his 2024 US presidential election campaign.

He is also vowing to recreate the low-inflation economy of his first term to woo voters angry at the steep rises in prices and interest rates during President Biden’s four years in the White House.

Unlike his failed 2020 re-election campaign, when he did not even have a manifesto, Trump, 77, has set out numerous policy plans that give voters a real taste of his ambitions for a second term.

The only reason it's so easy for Trump to weirdly get behind this "Tips" issue is because it aligns with the interests of his billionaire buddies:

1) AVOIDING PAYING TAXES ON INCOME

2) AVOIDING PAYING WAIT STAFF A LIVABLE WAGE & BENEFITS

It's no secret that most wait staff who receive tips don't report the full amount come tax season. (Tax evasion, Trump loves that sh*t. )

Listen, The rest of the developed world doesn't depend on tips because those restaurant owners pay their wait staff a fair wage and give them health benefits as well.

This is another reason why Trump can easily get behind protecting tips. Because restaurant owners exploiting their wait staff by not providing them with a livable hourly wage and healthcare benefits saves restaurant owners hundreds of thousands of dollars. INSTEAD they put that weird obligation on the customer who is already paying for their food. The USA is the only country that forces the customer to awkwardly pay for the wait staff's salary. AND, even WEIRDER than that, these same restaurant owners often encourage their wait staff to go get on welfare to supplement their lack of healthcare and livable income. So yes, this hurts the people who are actually paying their taxes. Aka the working and middle class.

It's time to stop this silly tips system we have in the USA where greedy restaurant owners like Javier are the only ones who win because it means they get to pay their wait staff trash and not give them any benefits. Not to mention all of those untaxed dollars just flying around.
