Hawaii wildfires: Evacuations launched as historic town is destroyed by flames

Emergency services on Maui say they have been overwhelmed by casualties from the wildfires that have swept the island.

At least six people have died in the disaster with mass evacuations ongoing.

Fires, fuelled by hurricane-force winds, have devastated the historic town of Lahaina.

My sister worked at Tommy’s Bahama shop in Lahaina. The shop is gone, and six employees had their houses burned down. The company is making accommodations for them on the island of Oahu for now.

- But why did they only happen in democratic places like Hawaii, Canada 🇨🇦, Greece, Spain, Portugal, California, and other parts of Europe,

Aug. 6 (UPI) -- The controversial Westboro Baptist Church, based in Kansas, claimed that Hawaii will be "utterly destroyed" on Sunday.
