Opuntia Ellisiana-
A beautiful, iconic, thornless, prickly pear cactus that produces copious amounts of edible young “tuna” pads in spring and summer, as well as ripe, juicy, red fruits in late summer and fall. Amazingly, this variety of edible cactus is cold hardy to as low as 0 degrees!
Yellow flowers in summer, up to 4’ tall and 6’ wide. Full sun. Every “prepper” should have this vital supply of nutrition planted in or near their space. Considered a “super food” nutrition! Full of antioxidants!

We moved from California to Texas and tried to replant a nopal from our California property in North Texas. They died last season so we found these spinless type here in texas and we are planting them in our yard because we love eating nopales

Wow! I have a live pad in the mail, now! About how many plants do you have there? How many plants do I need to grow before I will have a regular supply of, say, a few pads a week?
