Lawi Performs on Top of Mount Mulanje

In April 2021, Lawi was appointed 'Ambassador For Mount Mulanje' by the Mulanje Mountain Conservation Trust (MMCT). His campaign has been dubbed 'The Voice of The Mountain'.
In August 2021, Lawi teamed up with Minister of Tourism, Wildlife and Culture; Honourable Dr. Michael Usi to ascend to the highest point in Malawi; Mount Mulanje's Sapitwa, in a bid to raise awareness on conservation issues on the mountain. In the process, they also intended to drum up support for the mountain to be declared a World Heritage Site.
On Day 1, the two, joined by 80 other hikers trekked from Likhubula (base of the mountain) to Chisepo Hut (base camp for Sapitwa) in 7 hours.
On Day 2 they summited the mountain and descended back to Chisepo Hut where they celebrated. The celebrations included an amazing performance by the award-winning LAWI.
