Solving and graphing a multi-step inequality

👉 Learn how to solve multi-step linear inequalities having parenthesis. An inequality is a statement in which one value is not equal to the other value. An inequality is linear when the highest exponent in its variable(s) is 1. (i.e. there is no exponent in its variable(s)). A multi-step linear inequality is an inequality in which multiple steps of operations are to be performed to obtain the solution(s).

To solve a linear inequality having parenthesis, we first use distribution property to remove the parenthesis. Next, we use inverse operations (addition/subtraction) to combine like terms and then, we also use inverse operations (multiplication/division) to isolate the variable. (recall that multiplication/division with a negative number changes the orientation of the inequality sign).

this is why I got my GED because with other kids interrupting the teacher I found learning in class distracting.
