The explanation given by David at about 53 minutes in the difference between commercial vs moral debt was outstanding! Currently preparing myself to sit down with my Calvinist pastor to go over just how much he subscribes to Calvinism so I can determine whether or not my family and I should remain there. Thank you for hosting this interview Leighton, much appreciated sir.

He was not only the propitiation for US (believers), but also the WHOLE WORLD (believers and unbelievers). Some of this stuff is so simple a little child could instantly grasp it. Calvinism seeks to confound the gospel. We all know who the author of confusion is.

The word Kosmos was referenced multiple times and Dr. Allen mentioned the subjunctive mood. This was music to my ears because in my years of interacting with Calvinism, the most powerful verse that refutes the entire system is John 3:17 Kosmos (All of humanity) Sozo subjunctive mood (Has the ability possibility and potentiality to believe and be saved). This one verse in and of itself refutes total depravity/inability and unconditional election, the two pillars of Calvinism.

I have listed every use of Kosmos and it's meaning and not once does it ever mean the elect. GOOG Kosmos Sozo 👍

As a zero point Calvanist I approve this message.

Love this precious man of God. How blessed to be able to sit in your classroom today! God bless you as you continue to follow God's path of ministry for your life! One of these days I'll be able to afford your work on the atonement and I didn't know your work on Hebrews was completed. I would also read the Hebrews commentary as a book as well. Thank you for having Dr. Allen back on Leighton!

Dr. Allen simplifies this false doctrine in such an easy-to-understand way - that even a Calvinist should be able to grasp it. Leighton, of course, has always gone out of his way to help us - for which we are all grateful.

So grateful for this discussion and for Dr. Allen telling us which pages of the new book he dealt with John 17 and Jesus’s prayer for the world.

Just had this discussion with my proud, Calvinist Bible study teacher and now I can explain that she is using the negative inference fallacy to support her position.

Thank you, gentlemen!

Good stuff. A lot of Calvinists use this fallacy. I know I used it. It is the one fallacy that alone defeats limited atonement when it is not recognized.

This historical background here on Limited Atonement is priceless.

Atonement is unconditional.
Salvation is conditional.

Once again Dr. Allen is spot on scripturally in regards to Exposition of these several text. I wish him well in his new position at Mid America Seminary. I pray the very best for him.

Obviously, not all humans benefit from the atonement.
Who benefit? Only those that accept the conditions of salvation: 1. Repentance and 2. Accepting J.C. as my savior.

I'm so happy i found this series! i really need help. I found out my friends and church i starting going to was "Calvinist" but i didn't know what it meant except i knew it wasn't right. I really don't know how to handle it. i don't go to the church anymore but i still feel connected to my best friend. any advice on what a should say or do? most of these kids haven't ever been to another church.

If Calvinism were true 2 Peter 3:9 is a redundant verse. I appreciate your teaching Dr. Flowers. I have been going to a church that preaches similar doctrine to what you teach. I’ve listened to a lot of Calvinists here on YouTube and agree with them on some key fundamental things like the deity of Christ, OSAS, Jesus as the only way, etc. However I never did latch on to limited atonement or unconditional election. The “P” is really the only one I can say I agree with.

Have to come over here now and then for a shot of Dr. Allen. So much here. ☝️

Great stuff guys. Meeting a Calvinist on their terms and using their selected verses seems to be the only way to overcome their theological construct. Then you can back up your conclusions with scripture that also directly refutes Calvinism.

I love this. I tried to read David Allen before, and videos like this really "bring him home". So clear and understandable.
