I didn't catch the live presentation, but I enjoyed the recorded session. Thank you for this information and it validated what I thought that I knew regarding the history of such a fantastic museum. I've been coming to Mt Vernon since 1976, and have watched the house evolve as new information is discovered in terms of wall color, furniture style, family favorite things to do.

Thank you for giving us your time and providing us insights into the history of the property. I grew up on a farm in Michigan before being drafted for Vietnam service. A sense of property ownership is important in giving our country a contextual meaning for our lives.

I would like to know what exactly are these people thumbing down. The information is very informative and interesting whether you're a history buff or not. Is it because it's become popular to hate on Washington and the fore fathers because political bias and contempt has told them to cancel and destroy anyone that had anything to do with the creation of this country? Understandably the people at Mt Vernon likely stay a-political because Washington was the only president that did not belong to a party but also because they are caretakers of his estate and not a political affiliate much like the staff at the Whitehouse. But still, I wonder what people like Doug Bradburn, Adam Erby and all the of curators have to say to these stooges that would like nothing more to see Mt Vernon, Monticello, Hermitage, etc burn.
