***This video is for the Bioenergetics topic of GCSE Biology and Combined Science (9-1) - it is written for the AQA specification but overlaps with other exam boards.***

Respiration happens in all living organisms to release energy for the cell’s activities.

These include:
Movement
Keeping warm
Carrying out chemical reactions to build larger molecules

We’ll look at the equations for:

Aerobic respiration
Anaerobic respiration in muscles
Anaerobic respiration in plant and yeast cells

Then I’ll explain what is meant by fermentation and describe the importance of this.

The video finishes up with some quick questions to test your understanding! This is a great way to improve and boost your grades, so give them a go by pausing the video & thinking through your answers or writing them in your Studyalong Workbook.

The chemical equation for respiration is: C6H12O2 + 6O2 ---> 6CO2 + 6H2O
You stated that is was: C6H12O2 + O2 ---> CO2 + H2O at the beginning of the video, which is incorrect as it is unbalanced.
Just thought I'd let you know. Love the channel though, you've really helped me with revision!
