Tough decisions need to be made by these companies right now. That being said, all markets are down. The entire physical comic book market is down. Most comics in their highest grades are down 50% including Hulk181 and UF4. A Superman 1 CGC 3.0 sold for $720, 000 10/22 and less than 10 months later it sold for $420, 000.. a $300, 000 loss. Does this mean we’re giving up on the comic book market? Absolutely not.

When Stan Lee was asked if digital comics would replace comic books, he said comic books are like boobs... They look great on a computer, but I would rather hold one in my hand 😅

As technology advances, the need for digital ownership will only become more significant over time. It’s going to revolutionize the gaming industry, especially when it comes to “play and earn” style of gaming. Non Fungible Tokens are a necessity for this ecosystem to work.

I really like your content for comics and l watch your videos all the time. Very informative and it helps me decide what to collect IRL. When it comes to Veve l dont agree with your views but l am glad we all can choose what to collect, enjoy and invest on. I saw your recent video on the new comic collection that was found. That guy was way ahead of his time and collected in a time when he was looked down for his pasion.

This post is not going to age well.

Yes we all love real comics and physical things for sure.

Humans by nature are addicted to technology and one thing we love a lot are video games and consumer spend 60Billion a year and growing on digital items they can never own or re trade on an open market.

Physical comics purchased every year are roughly 1.5B

There will be no contest for this growing unstoppable tsunami that’s taking place.

If you’ve ever bought a skin in a game, a virtual expansion pack, coins, gems, chests, armor. You will be buying NFTS sooner or later especially ones linked to gamification, utility, sentiment value and scarcity.

People are coming into a world where they now have a choice buy the digital item you can never own and resell which is what masses are already doing, or buy the digital item that is now scarce, has utility or is mabey just visually appealing to you and you can actually own it and re trade it in the future if you like.

The metaverse is in its infancy right now and only growing to grow with all things digital.

When this guy says VEVE is going to die and disappear it makes me laugh at the lack of vision. They make millions per month even in this bear market, Whales continuing to buy grails even during economic crisis, partnered with dam near every major brand on the face of the earth and their licensing director is responsible for the success of almost every popular show you grew up watching and trading card you collected.

Metaverse ain’t perfect or where it needs to be however Metaverse, NFTS and VEVE ain’t going no where. Your mind set at this time would be like Blackberry seeing the first version of I-Phone laughing at it saying they will be out of business soon no one wants a screen without buttons terrible technology.

There is so much more, this is a minor scratch of the surface, I’d suggest don’t blindly follow the video of someone lacking vision or even this comment that’s quite moonboyish. Everyone has lots of time to learn and get educated and build convictions on what they like.

One things for certain it’s something to pay attention to and perhaps get involved in if your a fan of anything technology.

Lastly all his hype on AI reigning supreme on google search, even better because AI is going to vastly compliment this space, it’s a partner not a competitor!

There’s nothing like having an old iconic comic book in your hands. I hold my AF15 in my hands and marvel at the historical significance of it. Digital collecting seems like a scam.

I was bummed this was only a 10 min video. I could have listened to you set the record straight for an hour!

Honestly, no one knows the future of collecting. The metaverse and digital collecting has only just got started. It's because of VEVE I started collecting physical comics. I really don't understand why old school collectors feel the need to bash this new way of collecting.

Web2 games like Fortnite with their new game builder for users shows they are adopting web3 ideas and gamers won’t bother getting into web3 now

It feels like the metaverse has been tried and tried. It’s all been bust after bust. And yes, NFTs have always been stupid.

*_Just remember that art you make with AI is not yours, you do not own it._*
*_I don't think you can even make money off it?_*
*_The makers of the app or the AI you use own everything you make._*

*_There is at least 1 comic book that has been made by AI and published, I forget it's name._*
*_I think the comic book industry is going to see some devastating changes, they truly do not need/not as many comic book artists anymore._*
*_I have seen examples, and I could not tell the difference and I'd even say the AI was better._*

*_A friend of mine is doing a project where he has taken ALL art published and all known art by a comic book artist and made new art, in the artist's style._*
*_As he himself has every panel ever drawn by said artist, he can manually check that the AI didn't copy anything directly. It really looks like the artist made this._*

hello mr fud if you had an iq higher than room temperature, you would know that progress is made in cycles. in every cycle, 95% of projects fail and those 5% become what we have today

Disney is wildly profitable. It’s just the no win situation that they’re not profitable enough for the never satisfied shareholders. Soon enough no one will have a decent job or afford to live anywhere but at least we get to all work for Walmart part time.

You might want to educate yourself on technology a bit instead of repeating what we can hear on CNN. Everything you say just show your level of understanding of these technologies and I won’t break it down to you cause arrogance just deserve silence.

I know it’s your lively hood and hard to be objective but do you honestly think young kids read actual comics right now? It’s like believing people will keep buying paper newspapers. The future may not be NFT’s but it certainly will not be paper comics. What’s your objective opinion?

Couldn't Agree more, this was inevitable.

Lol. Yep… this is going to be interesting.

I’ve been a comic book collector for 40 years, and also own some Veve comic books. I like the Veve books for what they offer, but sure am glad I didn’t sell my physical books to buy them and continue to buy physical books and original art.
