Teachers won’t teach because it is not a generalised method for every multiplication. You are not always going to multiply two three digit numbers both with the 10th placewalue 0

Which is (a+b+c)^2 = a^2 + b^2 + c^2 + 2ab + 2bc + 2ac 😂😂

Edit: (509)^2 = (500)^2 + (0)^2 + (9)^2 + 2(500)(0) + 2(0)(9) + 2(500)(9) = 250000 + 81 + 9000 = 259081
