Toast isn’t actually a Minecraft developer’s pet rabbit. There was a reddit post of a girl who lost her rabbit (called toast, pretty obviously) and mojang felt bad and added toast into the game as an easter egg.

Toast wasn’t the pet bunny of a developer but from a person on the internet who’s pet bunny Toast went missing. One of the devs felt sad so they added a reference to the bunny Toast.

Toast isn’t a reference to one of the dev’s pets it’s a reference to a fan who posted something about their pet bunny named toast dying, they added it to pay tribute to that pet
