Soak some card board on the bed of the grill with some cooking oil then spray your grill with cooking oil all over the inside and out. Add your charcoal on the soaked cardboard. Light the cardboard, wait for the charcoal to all turn a little gray which means they started. Once the flame goes out and the coals are putting off a lot of heat, close the lid and let the heat sit for an hour at 400 degrees. Your grill is seasoned and protected from the weather and your grill is ready to cook on. You don’t need lighter fluid, just patience.

Can we all just take a moment to appreciate the bird chirping in the video. I just love that when out doors and cooking on the grill.

Skipping out on lighter fluid will give you a cleaner burn and better tasting food. Charcoal chimney is the way to go here

FINALLY!! A video that shows from start to finish exactly what to do. Honestly, watching some of these vids on here, I still had questions. I totally messed up my first time grilling yesterday because the videos were not really informative. Thank You :)

I LOVE Kingsford. I also like those Western Hickory wood chunks too. I found a great deal at Walmart the other day.

Thnx for the video, watching this on Juneteenth as I'm planning to grill for family and friends at my new house. This video is exactly what I was looking for. I've been used to grilling with gas. First time I got a charcoal grill. This helps a lot 😊

Finally someone who does coals the same way I do. Like you I find this the best and for the chimney starters each to his own!

Humorous video because so many things aren't ideal and you aren't really saving much time with these shortcuts. 1) Use a charcoal chimney starter. It's easy and your food doesn't taste like starter fluid. 2) If you use wood chips soak them overnight. That way they don't burn but you get the flavor. 3) If you go to flip and the meat is sticking that's because you didn't let the top grill get hot enough. Let it sit that way for a while top down 4) With all that room don't put the meat so close together so the air circulates... Having said all that I'd eat what he made right tf now lol. But I highly recommend a chimney starter and using no lighter fluid.
