My monitor was doing this for a a week or two, but started after a minute, today it totally stopped working and i checked the board, the same capacitor you show in the video is slightly bulged at the top. Will be getting a replacement tomorrow. Thank you!

This also worked for a 20" LG Flatron, the configuration is different, but replacing #204 on this board fixed the problem - thanks

As others have said, there are no screws to remove the back.
Just -carefully- pry up the bezel around the edge of the screen. Start on the long top or bottom edges.
I find that a 2-inch plastic putty knife will help get some leverage without damaging the screen. Use two or three as shims to keep the case from popping back together.

I just fixed one of these. The symptom was that the blue power LED would flash on for a moment, then off, then repeat. Capacitor C812 (Su'scon 1000 uF 10 V 105 deg C) was visibly puffy. I just soldered in a replacement and the monitor works fine.

Thankyou much. My LG monitor was not working even the power light was also off.
I watched your video and I opened my monitor I found two electrolytic capacitor was bulged up.I removed and replaced with another two capacitors found from my old laptop charger.
I didnt know what to do and I was thinking to buy new monitor even though I didn’t like.
Once again thankyou soooo much for sharing your knowledge.

Very useful and got mine going again for R7! the only thing not shown is how to get the back cover off which needs a screwdriver to prise open the gap and just keep going.

Thank you for your effort. I would like to add something. It is good practice to change all filter capacitors. If one is damaged, it's a good guess that others will stop working soon. This kind of electrolytic capacitors are cheap and easy to find.
So, if you changing one filter capacitor on PS output, change others too. Otherwise, maybe you will have to open monitor again for month or two for the same reason...

looks helpful, but... I don´t have the tools or skills to do the process, well it's good to know what is wrong with it... I've had it for 14 yrs and ever since the pandemic, have been using it for longer periods... I guess this was meant to be... so long LG, Flatron W1934S, we had good times... Now, I'm up to get a new monitor I guess ¬¬
