I love my bb bold 9900. One of the reasons why bb is lagging behind in apps is because the apps have to work for all the bb smartphones- which are all very different. All iPhones are the same and all androids are similar to one another.

Yes, I moved to BlackBerry 9860 so I could have reliable native local sync with Outlook. It works perfectly, I require a deep sync (I use categories and have 850 tasks) and it does the job perfectly. You should, however, do lots of research - my BlackBerry 9860 battery lasts 2 to 3 days, however not everybody reports the same experience. Also, very few apps. It's a great business phone, but if you want to play Angry Birds and wear hipster glasses then it's not for you ;)

Thank you for your review. I wasn't overly familiar with the Blackberry Torch prior to this and was trying to decide between the iPhone 4s and Torch 9860. I am a big App user, and have a number of Apple products so think that despite the iPhone not behaving re the Wifi issue, I'll lean towards it too. Many thanks again.

@prnzhamzah iphone and the new blackberries are just as expensive in fact, i believe that the 9900 is more than iphone 4s retail. i think bb is great for business type users and iphone is more for general users.

I think really the only issue with blackberrys are apps. 6 and 7 os have revoutionalised blackberrys but we need more developers

I've always really liked the blackberry because you can load third party apps on it without having to jailbreak it. Even still, I would say the Apple app store is superior, but I've never really had any complaints with the app world.

Both phones have been updated now. But with Apple they actually have ONE home run product (just like Blackberry had) with the iPhone, iPad, iPod -- they are ALL the same product re-packaged and are a few years old now. Again, very similar to what Blackberry had (but years ahead of Apple). Will be interesting to see if Apple is "stuck" with this single product (like Blackberry was) or if they can evolve to a new product -- I suspect they are just like Blackberry, just lagging in history.

and I forgot to mention.... the phone starts freezing for no apparent reason about 6-7 mohths in.... every day the lil clock comes on and keeps spinning for minutes into minutes, and when it does stop the phone freezes

The 9860 makes me want to stay with BlackBerry. It offers everything I want, and since I'm not an app junkie, I have no real need to go to iphone, especially if the Android app rumours are true. Only issue will be how long its going to take BB to get on LTE. That being said, my iPhone experience has only been limited to a 3G so I haven't ruled out a 4s or waiting for the 5.

1:30 You can change the sensitivity on the blackberry so that doesn't count a win for the iPhone.
