WEATHERTECH WINDOW DEFLECTORS - Not for me!

I originally bought and installed these WeatherTech window deflectors on my VW GTI a few months ago to support my Scorpion SA-680 antenna project. So, this is *sort of* a long-term review. HAHA! See my thoughts on these and why I may remove them.

One of the most horrible accessories people add to cars specially Honda owners don’t understand those deflectors looks horrendous

I've had a set of these on my 2000 Toyota Tacoma since it was new. Twenty one years later they still basically look new. I can leave my windows cracked a bit to get some airflow through the truck during the hot Florida summer and not have to worry about afternoon thunderstorms. Worth every penny.

I know this may sound weird to some, but deflectors always look nice on any vehicle. I think they also give somewhat of a more sporty look to the GTI, or any small hatch or pseudo-sport vehicle for that matter. They look REALLY good on yours for a not-so-expensive pseudo-mod. They match the window tint and your wheels too! And yes, they ARE great for when one needs fresh side-window air when it's raining. My wife is one of those "Gott'a have fresh air once in awhile during a trip" peeps. So when it's raining I'm sure glad I have mine for practicality as well as for aesthetic reasons.

My .02 anyway!

Just installed these Weathertech deflectors on my GTI last week and very impressed so far!

I find these window deflectors are great at nullifying wind buffeting noise as well 👍

I had this Weathertech window deflectors for about 5 plus years now and it works fine for me, since I live in South Florida and the heat is crazy. I keep my windows crack an never had any issues except they are starting to fade from dark to a lighter color but no big deal haha

The main reason I put them on both of my GTIs was due to the rain destroying the switches on the 3 door version due to the location of the switches and how the rain would hit them

People are NOT understanding what these window deflector‘S are for. It’s NOT to make your car sporty or look good. It’s for when it rains and you open the open the water doesn’t get into the car and believe me these things make a HUGE difference. I live in a city where it RAINS a lot !!! These things help a lot to keep the rain 🌧️ out !!!

Thanks for this vid. Exactly what I needed; a review not an installation guide. Im gonna buy a set

Nice review! If you got around to removing them, I’d be curious to know if the OEM window seals were left slightly distorted, causing them to let in more noise at highway speeds?

If your only reason for wanting them was to reduce air turbulence on the highway with the windows down, do you think they're worth it?

I had them on my F150, looked cool and did the trick with cracked windows in the rain. I took them off because they made an already bad A pillar blind spot that much worse.

Thanks for the review! I've been looking at the Weathertech deflectors for my MK6 GTI. Hadn't considered running a feed line out the window, but when I finally have the headliner out for recovering, I'll be very tempted to drill for an NMO mount while I'm at it.

Thank you for uploading. Oh and as for "like to hide things..." comment at 1:15 I prefer the phrase "maintain operational security..." or "maintain discretion..." 😄

But seriously, thanks again for uploading. Take care, everyone!

Wanted to let you know, I made an appointment to get the APR Stage 1 and DSG tune. They won't be able to work me in until the 29th of this month though.

I got these for my Acura TL and only the front deflectors fit right. Took me an hour to file down the plastic on the channel part for it to fit. Paid over $100 I shouldn’t have to do shit but install them. Not sure why they would make the plastic channel part as thick as the actual deflector part

In- channel rain guards also come with a glue strip to aid the installation. It didn't seem like you used the glue strip.

that's a good one to use when/if describing oneself. "i am not really a windows down type of person". you have good company, no one drives with windows down anymore unless the clunky is acting up.
