Better keep your feet moving too. Planting too early causes real problems with floaty or junky shots. Adjustment steps are your friend.

Thanks Ian for the explanation!
I'll try out the suggestions on the court next time. Btw you got the pronunciation right :)

- Active foot movement to get into position, don't get lazy b/c it's an "easy" ball
- RHS to get the ball up and over, this is extremely important

Hello, can u make a video on how to slide, slides are very effective and make it easier to get to the ball hence saving lot of time I can slide on other courts but I just can't slide on hard ones, appreciate your reply!

The tip of full swing has inspired me.Every time I compete against someone like to use junk ball, in the beginning I can hit confidently but when the game keeps going I started to make some mistakes. Consequently my body get stuck even it’s the same junk ball no different from the first one.
Thanks.

Hi Ian. Thanks for the videos. I really enjoyed them. I am also a 3.5 player and can deal with well-paced balls, but have an extremely difficult time dealing with "skidding" balls or low-bouncing balls. Any tips?

I'm a 6.9 UTR and still have so much trouble with junky balls. This was such an amazing video-I never had before but I just HAD to comment. I also have trouble with the high ones. :|

Backspin is kinda hard to gauge
You have any more tips?😅

I know you made a vid about equipment and another about how often a player should change racquets. I would like you to do a talk about strings, string tension and string gauge. I see your Wilson Racquet is same as mine and I can't help wondering what string, tension, gauge you use. Do you use the same racquet for competitive matches that you use for lessons? Do you change the racquet set up accordingly? How often do you break string? Inquiring minds want to know!

I have more problem against topspin that's not hit clean (some unintended side-spin) that I have problem with. It's more difficult to read/realized until after it breaks from the bounce

This is my biggest struggle... the video was challenging to understand for me because that first shot went across his body to the right and yet you still moved to your right... wasn’t that the Opposite of what you said do?

How to approach and return such balls, but short that I recieve right after my serve? There are lots of players who return my serves short and sliced, or who only hits junk balls during the match. It is really hard to keep focusing on the ball and not getting bored due to slow paced, irregular balls.

Hi Ian: You did not mention how my body momentum and swing path approach the ball. Will my body momentum and swing path approach the ball or approach the destination of where I want the ball goes to?

I just lost a match against a stupid guy who pushed the balls 3 times higher than this (you know, 3 cm below the roof), always hitting right on the baseline, backhand side, with balls floating so much that they had literally only (high) vertical speed (or even going forward after bounce). Ha, the guy did not a single swing preparation during the whole match, only opposing the racket to the speed I could impulse. I could break my racket against those satellite launchers (moonball pushers ?). Need a video against that please ? (I can't get to sync to hit the ball early at bounce)

question: do you guys use any racket tennis sensors, and what do you think of them ?

I thought junk balls meant tennis balls that are overused and worn out. Is there any way I can still use this type of tennis balls for practice, or should I just throw them away?
