The story moves ahead into the future a ways in "After The Lie". Our main character is older and the effects of the deal that was made with the devil begin to take place. Our character begins to see things in a different light...

Thank you, Tony Banks, for making such a beautiful, hypnotizingly gorgeous suite of commentary on a hapless modern youth. For me it captured Supertramp's Logicaal Song writ large in spiritual dilemma notes of enigma and despair. My best to your being discovered internationally the way this collection deserves.

That nice little syncopated bridge is certainly an affectionate homage to Brian Wilson and "Pet Sounds, " the Beach Boys having numbered among Tony's many seminal influences.
