UPDATE: (As posted on IG shorts) The video was fixed. I got in contact with TeamYoutube on twitter and they helped me. I appreciate the help they gave me. Weird how the actual agents on the Youtube side were not able to do something TeamYoutube was able to do in less than 24 hours. In anycase I'm Happy

It's no secret that YouTube's support is horrible. Getting an actual answer or even just a conversation with a human being instead of an automated bot or a FAQ page is incredibly difficult. Hopefully the mistake is fixed and the video is monetized again. Good luck.

UPDATE:

I got an email back from agent Nel. The only thing the email said was "Here is detailed infromation on age restriction" and gave me the list. I'm was like: Yes, I know, but WHAT does that have to do with the Finland episode? (Image attached on the community tab)

It says NOTHING about what my video violated and why it was age restricted. What is going on?!

I think it's all about reducing harm to minors. I was told about the existence of Finland when I was 16, and could hardly handle it. The trauma of realizing that there existed a Nordic country so friendly and civilized, with healthcare and freedoms Americans can only dream of, nearly broke me. I can totally understand wanting to protect our children from this! You should be *at least* 21 before the secret of Nordic countries is revealed. You start with Canada at 12, and work your way up to Australia by 32.

I'm a Finn and I have watched the video many times. Us Finns love when we are mentioned anywhere outside here and the video was great! It makes me happy that people of any age could learn about our country, I've met people who had no idea a country called Finland even exists! It wasn't offensive at all to me, and if the restriction is about the past wars with Russia then it's just ridiculous, talking about a countrys past is a part of GN videos. This is something that I see quite a lot in the corporate world. The compliance departments in many companies are now telling employees not to reveal the reasons for decisions that affect customers. I think they have the attitude of "If we tell them the reason, they will have grounds to sue us, or at least to argue with the decision that we won't budge on, and also they might try to come up with more clever ways to break our rules." The problem is that most people who get caught in these situations aren't trying to do anything wrong, or haven't done anything wrong, and have no recourse and no way to fix the problem, if there even was one in the first place.

I hope this gets resolved as quickly as possible since this is clearly a problem of a broken YouTube algorithm and system. No one should go through this, especially not fully EDUCATIONAL content that has no controversy whatsoever. Unless the problem is with Finland´s ongoing NATO application. Which would make absolutely no sense.

I am from Finland and have watched the video 2 times. It is maybe the most watched video about Finland and teaches about our culture. Now many underaged people can't learn about our country the best way possible. I hope this problem gets fixed and thank you for all this amazing content! 🇫🇮🙏

Didn't you talk about the wars with Russia? YT has been really arbitrary with content that even references wars. Channels like The Great War have their videos demonetized and age restricted ever so often.

Just watched the Finland episode again and perhaps the fact you mentioned animosity with Russia/ Soviets. Despite what's going on in the world now, the video touches the history between the countries and that implies no reason for any restriction.

The same thing happened to me on Instagram. My band's profile got banned from running ads out of nowhere. I tried contacting their support FIVE TIMES and the fifth time I was told that we violated Instagram's terms of use and we will not be eligible to run ads ever again. When I asked why, they just said they won't tell us and the decision is final. I also only wanted to know why and so I could fix it!!!
