Electronics can't overcome physics. Too much speed and too little traction. Take it as a wake up call that a motorcycle with electronic systems is still a motorcycle on two wheels.

First off, I am glad that Mat wasn't hurt. He looked a bit stunned immediately after, but that is natural. I really would like to know more about the crash. Were you offline? What were you feeling just before the front tucked on you, Mat? Did you go back to that piece of track to see if anything was out there?

If you pause the video just before the front end folds in you can first see white chalk/cement dust on the track then dark lines, probably a sign that there had previously been an incident on that corner and may have been fluids on the corner recently, out of curiosity who pays the bill for the wrecked bike?

ok so...why did he crash? as far as I can tell he was damn near upright and the abs should have sorted out the braking..any thoughts?

A very valid point though, why didn't cornering ABS stop that from happening, he wasn't at 60 degrees. Was he in track mode with ABS off? Here's and idea, have an ABS/TC review, set up a test on various bikes and see which ones work!

I don't have abs so I get my entry speed right instead (maybe trail a little rear) but I cant see what caused the traction issue here, very strange.

Cornering ABS is designed to to avoid those sorts of crashes, so yes I'd be disappointed in the system. It's like it didn't have ABS active at all. Perhaps there was just a tiny spot of something on the track, so ABS didn't have time to work.

Hello, MSC (cornering ABS) is only active in ABS mode ROAD. You probably were in ABS mode SMOTO so that's why the cornering ABS didn't prevent the fall...

Question from a new driver: what was the thing causing the bike to drop? I tried watching at 0.25x speed but couldn't really see it . was it the braking that was too hard?
