I hope this version is good but they have huge shoes to fill from the 1994 film. That was about as perfect as a film can be add the incredible score from Thomas Newman.

Still the version with Winona is my favorite. I know-I know it's stupid to say this so early before watching the film but I feel like they won't be able to bring that atmosphere back. Maybe they don't have to. We'll see.

The film was really good and had that touch of realism Greta has in her work which I love. And even though each actor played their role very well, I do think the cast was too ambitious for its own good. The actresses didnt look like sisters and you just couldn't picture Laura as their mother or the actor that played their dad as their actual father. It felt more like " Emma Watson as 'Meg' and Saoirse as 'Jo' ", etc, rather than watching the characters as real people.
