Are the entry level LTD guitars worth it? In my opinion, absolutely! Check out how I’ve upgraded both my EX-50 and EC-10 to make them what they are today.

If you look back at some of the guitar legends, even they started with lower end guitars that were then heavily modified into their now custom icons.

Let us know what you think! Do you think the entry level LTDs are worth it?

It's definitely worth looking into putting machine screw slots in the neck joint to replace the woodscrews in the neck. It really helps with sustain and makes it sound almost like a neck thru.

I have a Black left handed EX50 and I added some Seymour Duncan Blackouts to it and it’s one of my favorite guitars I own. Currently thinking of upgrading the hardware to gold!!!

I got a LTD 256 years ago from a good friend who needed money and I was surprised at the quality at that price range.I have a E-II, Jackson V, and a Gibson Les Paul Special and other than changing pickups the LTD is stock and I still play the LTD every week.

agree they're super worth it. the esp ltd ax-50 was my first guitar. made in indonesia but seems to be super high quality compared with my korean and japanese guitars. like you, i ended up upgrading to EMGs (went with 85/81 set) and love it. put on 10-52s and tuned down to drop c, it sounds great and plays great. the wood is quite soft so does ding easily but the finish has never cracked on me. have recently owned an EC1000 too which to be honest i didn't see what was particularly great about it that made it cost so much more, was still a great guitar though!

I love my EC 1000 Andromeda, upgraded my tuners to Hip Shot opens, 10-52 D, Drop D, Standard tuning. But it intonates and plays fine i Drop C.

Great vid!   So I'm old and have always played the same old guitars, Les Paul or Strat.  Recently however, I tried a thin neck with a wide fretboard, I guess what's called a "shred neck".  Wow, I loved it - my big paws fit perfectly.  I'm looking at an LTD EC-10 or maybe a 256 for a Les Paul look with the same "shred neck".  I wished those shape necks were around in the mid 70's when I was a teen.

I alway thought ESP/LTD guitars look too pointy for me... Just out of pure curiousity I tried an LTD MH-203QM.
Fell in love... I'm going to buy it. 🤣

Love these LTD's. For the price, you can't beat them. I have 5 different models and never had any issues with them. Wouldn't play anything else. Was never a Gibson or Fender fan because everyone else had one. Just something about these guitars, they feel just right to play. Thanks for your post.

I have an LTD M-50 that I've had since I was 13, and I'm now 29. That thing is built like a tank. It's been through rookie mistakes, shows, drops, practices, other hands playing it, and it still looks great and sounds great. I had a V-50 that fell apart after 2 years that I bought 8 years ago....the build quality on the entry level guitars doesn't seem to be the same. My M-50 hasn't been upgraded at all, and maintains tuning, and the neck feels like a higher quality guitar, and it also is on the road with me now, as a trucker.

Wife ordered me an Arrow 200 for Xmas, couldn't quite afford the 1000 that was on the wall.

My first electric guitar was an Ltd EX400BD (it has a black diamond plate on the front). This guitar is with me the half of my life, got it to my 16th birthday from my dad and my grandparents, now I'm 32. It isn't really a beginners guitar, the price tag was 750€.
It had a set of EMG81/60 pick ups. The 81 broke down and I changed it to a set of Seymour Duncan SH1B/SH2N. In my opinion the better sounding pick ups. I love this guitar, some people wanted to buy it, but this guitar will stay with me till the end.

I only have a few guitars, & was thinking of getting one of these ESPs, hence me watching this. My favorite guitar is my 2006 Fender American Deluxe Stratocaster. It's got all the whiz-bang features you might want, and it's made in 'Murica, locking tuners, roller-nut, humbuckinig single-coils with that whole S2 switching thing for a total of 10 different combinations (well, 9 actually, 10 theoretically), & then upgraded whammy. Not a locking trem like the Floyd & Kahler on my other guitars, but a fender one which pretty darn well. It'll do dives & ups. I describe it thus: all my guitars are guitars, but the Strat is a musical instrument. It feels finely polished when I play it. I guess the one I play the most after that is a Carvin, don't know the model, but it's a "Super Strat'." One guitar I have that I'm super impressed with is a mid-80's Jackson. The thing is a tank. I need to get me a modren one! A guitar I borrowed for a while & really liked was a Gibson SG, whatever the regular one is. Solid build & stayed in tune. I might try one of these imports, though. The only one I have is a 1982 Ibanez Musician. The rest are all 'Murican. Peace.

My first esp was a Ltd mh100 and I absolutely loved it. My next guitar will be the Ltd te200. I’ve really been digging the tele look lately but the red finish on the te200 is super sick and the humbuckers are another reason for wanting it

I have a V-50 and it absolutely rocks. I've got some issues with her. The fretboard wood is very sensible. Anything that touches it basically leaves a mark. I don't know why. The neck finish has some minor cracks since day one. But soundwise she is really good, comfortable to play... And REALLY light.

Can you speak for the basses? I am considering the B-15 KIT because it looks like a nice player (DEEP cutaways)
