Search Location using OpenStreetMap API (Tutorial)

OpenStreetMap is a collaborative project to create a free editable geographic database of the world.
And Nominatim is a tool to search OSM data by name and address and to generate synthetic addresses of OSM points.
If you are a student and don't have money to use google maps API, or you just want to create a project about maps for fun, you can use Nominatim API to access OpenStreetMap data.

Be aware that the Nominatim service runs on donated servers and has a very limited capacity.

POPUP with MARKER version 3.x is not working. The map is not coming up. In version 4.x error is ocurring for render not defined.

Awesome tutorial! There's this one problem with the searchbox though, when a lot of results come up, the page itself keeps getting longer so when you scroll down, the map is left out of view. Do you have a solution for this? I've tried a few things in the CSS but haven't managed to get it working yet.

This won't work as a autocomplete search. You will have to click on a button to get the results. Openstreetmaps doesn't support autocomplete search as of yet, trying to implement the same using the current api will get your ip banned.
