Crevice Spiny Lizard Facts By a Veterinarian

I saw one of his younger homies in my yard in Cali. His top half was partially on my side of the chain link fence. At first I thought it died trying to get through the link 😂 until I came back with gloves to get him out and he was on the sidewalk catching rays I suppose.

Very similar to the eastern fence lizard. The must be in the same family. They share the blue marking feature but have less aggressive scales and unique wood tone patterns on their back.

I found one once, playing dead, while on a hike. Thought he was toast, but I still pulled on a pair of gloves and picked him up to check him out, maybe to have him mounted by a taxidermist in natural pose. Now, imagine my damn near heart attack when that little booger flipped back over on my hand and took off in a zip, 😆!
