This was my first project to get used to my sewing machine <3
I recycled a pair of pajamas with a cute pattern that were getting worn, and made more of a placemat than a potholder. I keep it on my desk to use at lunchtime (so I can admire it every time I eat heehee!)

Thank you so much for the great tutorial!! I am making several of these for Christmas this year. I am going to add a pocket on one side to hold cooking tools, like a whisk, spatula abd wooden spoon. Adding this to a gift basket with soup bowls, bowl holder, soup, muffin and cookie mixes!! Your video is so timely. Many thanks…PS. Love your pink iron❤

Stacey - Thank you for the great quick project. Sometimes we want to sew but don't want to get involved in a big project, so this would be perfect for a relaxing sew! What a great quick gift idea! Kudos to you for posting a video when you're in the midst of relocating. I know how exhausting mentally and physically it is! What a trooper!

Just finished my first pot holder and love it. Your instructions are perfect! I cut all the pieces 9" x 9" and the finished size was 8" x 8" - perfect for a man's hand as well. I used 1 piece of insul-bright and one piece of cotton batting and a size 80 needle. Thank you so much for your video.

Stacey - your tutorial is PERFECT for a beginner like my daughter and granddaughter - I can’t wait to show them this! I’ll make a few more for myself since my husband really loves them (I’m spoiled and he does 99% of the cooking) - he’s said the homemade ones with the batting and insulbrite are fabulous and so much better than store bought.
Thank you for all you do

Thank you for the easiest potholder tutorial I've seen yet for beginners! Please continue to do beginner sewing instructionals as you take your time and don't speed through the video thinking everyone knows their way around sewing.💜💜

I love this potholder ❤ I think I'll use some leftover wrap n zap batting and pretty flannel from another project. As always, thank you for mentioning all the stitch lengths used in your tutorials. 😊
