These games are called The Hunger Games by local people. It's so because the government pulled all money from business to arrange them. Many businessmen are in prison because they disagree to pay or just do not have money to pay. Wages are cut dramatically for regular employees. Many are paid 150-200$ per month. Food prices skyrocketed and people have no money left after they buy food. Food industry is majorily controlled by the government and the government considers it another way to finance these games. The tickets price for the sport events in these games are cheap for a Europian roundabout but Belarusans cannot afford them. They don't even care about these games because they have to care of how to survive.
