Can understand some blade play in OTF's .
Though in a Locking Knife, when the blade is out and locked, any blade play and that knife won't be bought by me.

I get hypnotised with those eyes! Then talking and playing with knives omg this woman does things to my soul! Love me an otf though for most of my edc i have mine with me itll be fine microtech are so solid, ive seen demo tests and they pierce metal and all with no dramas. I think the troodon is a bit more extreme for beating.

Any blade play is unnoticed if you shake the whole knife

That "wobble" drives me crazy.
Many back locks also have some blade play. That's why when I buy a new knife, I always test for blade play.

It makes sense, you have to have a small amount of clearance so the blade doesn’t bind inside the handle coming out !
0 zero wobble would be more blade contact, so it might be slower to deploy and the correct lubricant would help !

Lubricant of any type is risky as pocket Lint may cause problems over time !

My S&W M&P OTF is actually quite tight. One of the reasons I got it over the others available.

Mine has no side to side play, but does have from front to back, edge to spine play
