Back when I still played music, I have to admit I was several of these. I especially enjoyed using various effects, I felt like they were sorely underutilized for bassists which is why I gravitated so much towards bassists like Chris Wolsteholme, Duff Mckagan, Justin Chancellor, Doug Wimbish and Roy-Mitchell Cardenas just to name a few.

You forgot the open note player, that plays an open string and then plays a bunch of high notes on top of it without ever changing the low note.

Hey, nice one! As a long time guitar player, I always used to be "the picker" whenever I had to play bass, until about a year ago when I decided to try and play bass more like a bass player. Now I would be happy to be just "the groover", if I could do it in time!
