My experience on acid battery for home inverter- Always pour water in right time, 150mah Exide tubular battery, run fluency last 8 years till now, running nine years with 80% backup from new, once my inverter fault for 25 days with no battery use, but no any problem, when i again charge by rectified same inverter. But yes if lithium ion battery have no burning problem, than i try to use in future.

He is wrong regarding this, Lead acid battery are simple, safe, cost effective, long lasting and clean compared to lithium ion but low energy density, heavy weight and usage of greater floor area were among the disadvantage for the purpose.
Lead acid contains acid but it doesn't leak
Only Hydrogen gas is emitted during it's usage
Required low maintenance (except distill water refill) keeping in mind it doesn't require battery management system (BMS) required in lithium ion battery
Also fire due to lithium ion is uncomfortable, it hv dendrites punture issue resulting into early battery failure, it cannot handle overcharge & if done so yr battery has turned into bomb
