Tutorial to make the hipshot into a palm lever

Some have asked how to make the palm lever in my other video. All hand tools and the parts can be picked up at Home Depot or somewhere like that. As you'll see, I'm no craftsman. If I can do it, anybody can.

Supplies:
- 1/2 x 1/8 aluminum bar stock (or steel)
- #8-32 thumbscrews in different lengths (or just get the long ones and cut them to size as I did)
- springs from ball point pens, but only certain pens. or just buy some
- small bolt/nut for the hole where the giant allen-wrench hip thing goes

Tools:
- vise, #8 tap (or nut), hammer, hacksaw, drill/bits
- optional: block of wood, spark plug socket, ratchet handle.

I’ve had one of these for 35 years, I took the G bender and drop D off mine, I may put the G lever back on after seeing this…also, it’s a nightmare trying to get the knurled screws over here in the UK, as they are US pitched thread !(fine) …I lost mine years ago, so it has a bolt in it now …thanks for sharing, I’m gonna have a go at this.

Thanks for posting this video. Great idea. Is the cover you made for the g bender purely cosmetic or does it serve a greater purpose?

The hip activation is awkward, but it makes east to use the B and G benders independently. Have you run into issues with bending one and not the other?
