I can't think of any situation where you would actually use it this way.

As a rope access tech I was taught to put the carabiner through my ID first (with the latch oriented such that I can escape the system in case of rescue), and then attach that to my harness. Finally, by holding my ID away from me, it will naturally be oriented such that the easiest way to feed the rope is the correct way.

This video does end up showing a correct final orientation and everything, but it's just shown in a weird way. If I'm about to do an edge negotiation, I'm not going to be free-handing my descender while I thread the rope in. You also show descending without using your other hand to control the trailing rope. I can understand that you were using that hand to weight it for the video, but it's still showing incorrect usage.

Even in hauling/lowering systems I wouldn't use it this way.
