I'm shocked the Cybertruck made it through US regulations and safety standards. It is extraordinarily dangerous to everyone on the outside, pedestrian or vehicle.

My take about the Cybertruck is, Elon did it backward, Cybertruck has Aluminum frame(/Unibody) and Stainless steel body, it should be the other way around, Stainless steel frame and aluminum body, the Cybertruck is like having a big thick skin that cannot be penetrate or slice, but having a weak bone that would break really easily...

If an EV truck can run a welding rig for 12+ hours and still have the power to drive an hour plus home, maybe I'll look into one, but until them I'm sticking with diesel and gas.

You guys are WAY off the mark. The majority of pickups are driven to the mall, that’s the CyberTruck market. 💯

I think the tech it has is cool the steer by wire especially. But tesla does such an awful job with quality control its just a shame

Personally not a huge fan of the cybertruck but I think his video was more for shock value and less of a fair test if you drive any truck off a ten foot concrete pipe theres a chance it will be permanently damaged. The f150 broke its driveshaft in the first ten seconds

I'm not a fan of Cybertruck, but I'm also not a fan of Doug. He had a smile from Ear to EAR when driving the Cybertruck..now he's pandering to these dudes.

I think to many people are comparing it with an actual truck which will make you very unhappy if that's what you expect. Its the first ev with truck like features if they are intended for superb people that drive trucks without a scratch in the bed. That may move a couch once in 10 years. A real ev truck would be more like a 2500hd with all ev guts. Think it's more of a gimmick really.

I feel like people fail to realize more than 50% of trucks are never used for real truck stuff. They are used to commute and haul mulch or furniture on an occasional weekend. THAT is the place for EV pickups. Basically no one is driving a truck like WD did unless it’s a moded 15+ year old rig.

I'm going to go out on a limb and say the Cybertruck is exactly the kind of truck that American buyers want, they just don't know it yet.
All American pickups are profoundly childish.

Just putting this out there becuase I think it’s worth knowing. Deliveries for the cybertruck have eclipsed all other EV trucks on the market in the roughly 9 months it’s been on the market ~ 30, 000 deliveries so far. It might be dumb, it might not be the best truck but Tesla really knows how to sell dumb stuff. Also, keep in mind, the cheapest you could get one of those 30, 000 + trucks is for $100, 000 becuase they’re all “special” editions with a $20k markup. That means the cybertruck is also the most sold vehicle over $100, 000.

Apparently there’s a lot of crazy people with money.

Personally, I do think it’s neat and I also think most people buying trucks never use the truck part of the truck. Having said that, I wouldn’t entertain buying a cybertruck unless it’s $40-$50k.

Also, one more fact that I find fascinating about it. It’s the second most aerodynamic EV truck even with its weird shape. It’s also the lightest EV truck at ~6, 800lbs which is just crazy

I honestly think that the Cybertruck is poised to be another DeLorean-type cult classic; neither is a good ‘car’, but they’re distinctive enough to become a pop-culture icons with the right help.

It wasn’t the cyber truck that killed ev pickups for ME. It was the f150 being the reasonable step into EV without some weird aesthetics overhaul it gets 200 miles. That’s what killed it if anything.

I disagree, people see Cybertruck as a meme and not a serious truck, I don't feel it will affect other EV trucks

Can someone explain what they mean by saying “cybertruck can't do what its supposed to do”

Isn't it great with load and towing capacity?

I don't understand how those photos have anything to do with what modern trucks are meant to do

The thing is, Tesla and the regulators know exactly who is buying these. Basically, nobody is buying them to do "truck things" with them. They are made for adult children with lots of disposable income who want to use them as mall crawlers.

A CYBERTRUCK is not supposed to be this big great towing machine, it’s an electric toy for big kids that enjoy the strange things in life.
