My F800GS is from the year 2016, I bought it new in Mexico, I traveled with it in the summer of 2017 from Tecamac, State of Mexico to Prudhoe Bay, Alaska, round trip, not a single failure, only change of tires, brakes and the main chain in Fairbanks, AK, then I brought it from Mexico to Miami where I living, in Mexico I traveled all over the country, plains, mountains, highways, roads, north to south from east to west, it is an excellent motorcycle.

I’ve had one for 45.000km, I wouldn’t trade it for a 1200, nor an 850. This is one amazing bike, it will take you anywhere you want, specially here in South America. Best bike ever!!!

Wow. My first vehicle was a 1972 Yamaha 360 Enduro... This is MUCH NICER! All the bells and whistles. I'm 62 and could really dig this!

I had the r1150gsa and the the r1200gs and now I currently have the f800gs no regrets, the f800gs feels much lighter, with the gas tank on the back even make it feels lighter than it is also gives to the bike a great maneuverability

I've been riding an F800GS for a couple of years now, best bike I've owned.

It's not what you riding but who you are, as a rider and how you ride your bike.

Whatever bike you demonstrate, I find myself wanting it! Then I realize that I have my perfect bike, BMW R1150R.

thank you for the information. i own a 1995 bmw 1150rs tour bike. i am deciding between 650 dakar or 1200gs. after seeing your video and your honest opinion, i will more than likely get 800gs. thanks again for sharing your experiences. God bless you brother...in Christ, AIRBORNE !

I have an f800gs. A few fun facts:
1) it was the lightest adventure bike before the tenere 700 and 790 adventure
2) it's still faster than both those bikes
3) the rotax twin is incredibly reliable. There are guys out there with over half a million kilometres on their engines with only basic maintenance
4) the stock suspension is garbage

I like how you get on the motorcycles a drive off in the beginning because it shows seating position.

The ABS light stays on until after a few feet of the bike moving. Nothing is faulty it is simply running a on board test and once it deems all is good the light goes off. totally normal.

Love my F800GS ridden it in 14 states and one Canadian Provence. Carries the wife and I  no problem. Pretty good off road but when I'm serious about off road I take the TW200.

I have a 2017 800gsa and I love it. It’s such a great all around bike. Long distance I’ll angle my feet on the pegs in different positions and also extend and rest them on the front crash bars.

Great video. But after owning both bikes, I would say that the R1200gs "feels" lighter than the f800gs or f850gs. Reason being, the weight sits lower.
Put both bikes next to each other, and lean each one over. Yes the r1200gs is wider and weighs more. But it's a serious competitor in terms of how the weight is distributed.
That being said I just bought another F800gs because of its width and price being less.

The ABS light stays on because it needs to do the initial test which it can only do while moving :) If its succesfull it turns off, if it fails it will stay on.

Awesome bike! I have a 2015 F800GSA. I've put it through the ringer with trails in the Ozarks, street riding old Route 66, gravel roads, fire roads, and it handles it all. It's way more capable than I am. Its rugged too, dropped probably 15 times at slow trail speeds, no damage. Never had one problem. I keep TKC 80s on it most of the time for max traction off road. Vibbs a little over 75 mps but its minimal. Id recommend it to anyone in the market for adventure.
