In this episode of The Simpsons Theory, I look at one of the weirdest Simpsons episodes ever made, Saddlesore Gallactica. This classic Simpsons episode is one of the strangest episodes.

The Simpsons Season 33 is airing on FOX and Disney Plus.

Whenever you see an episode that doesn't make sense, a wizard did it.

Season 11 has a special place in my heart. When I first got into the simpsons, I asked my mum for a boxset for Xmas and she just happened to get season 11. I watched those dvds over and over again

I have to admit, their horse staring down the other track horses was hilarious! One of the only few highlights of the episode!

I liked the end when Clinton showed up. "Just keep complaining until your dreams come true" - "thats a pretty lousy lesson" - "hey, Im a pretty lousy president!"

I've never agreed that Principal and the Pauper was an exact "jumping the shark" moment, because no matter how ridiculous the twist is, the concept itself and the story are still grounded within the show's parameters. Hell you could even argue it's more character-driven than several other episodes of that era.

It's plots like Saddlesore Gallactica and The Man Who Came to Be Dinner (a "canon" Kang and Kodos episode) where I feel like the show's principles are truly disregarded. I don't mind unrealism for the sake of comedy, but the cheaper the jokes turn out the less justified it is.

This episode did give us Homer's iconic delivery of the line "I'll deal with those murderous trolls!"

This is the first time I've heard that the Principal and the Pauper episode isn't canon. There's an episode in a later season where Skinner is talking to Bart about the evils of lying and Bart calls him Armin. That episode is absolutely canon.

"Elmo knows where you live." Cracks me up every time. 😂

I always really enjoyed this episode and I'm not completely sure why. That said, my mind seems to conveniently block out the entire evil jockey sequence whenever I think about it.

As absurd as it is, I actually liked this episode. I love you and your channel. You'll never stop the Simpsons

Personally I think this is a hilarious concept, but I'm always a suckered for surreal humor

Is this the perfect episode? No.

Was the jockeys turing out to be elves necessary to the plot? No.

Was it fair for Ogdenville to use glow lights during the state fair music competition? DEFINITELY NO!

Season 11 was definitely strange to say the least. Especially when they killed off Maude. We all know what happened with that I feel like.

I lowkey love this episode, sure the end makes no sense at all but neither do a lot of episodes, just count it as 'non canon' and its perfectly fine imo

Damn. Lydia's avatar got glammed up.

As the show went on it felt the need to continually outdo itself which is why it got more and more cartoony over the years.. it’s honestly a shame since the show works so much better when it’s at least somewhat realistic

I'm sure you get this a lot, but your Flying Hellfish member list is starting to sound more and more like Cletus' kids roll call! Love it!

I didn't think they were actually magical elves. They described themselves as "freaks" and "live underground in a *fiberglass* tree".
