Join us whilst we continue to clear our abandoned derelict Allotment Garden in the hopes to have it ready for spring planting and autumn harvests.

Today we found something strange on the plot with suggest someone has been lurking. 👀.
We also dug up a huge rhubarb and I can’t wait to hear your advice on what I should do with it.

We also attempted the start of nettle fertiliser turning weeds into liquid gold and hoping to use it on our crops.

Thank you so much for watching! If you liked our video please subscribe, we really do appreciate every single one of you! ☺️

See you soon!

Incredible work on the plot. Well done! I’d hang on to the bricks, as others have said, because they can be reused in so many ways.

I’d definitely keep all those bricks. At my site people have used them to edge their beds and it looks really nice. I think they put them at an angle if you know what I mean. I’m new to my allotment and the if I could recommend anything I’d say get some compost bays made as they’ll be invaluable to you. Unless of course you already have them!

Don’t be in too much of a hurry to get rid of your bricks. They will be handy in the summer. Great for paths and edging. Just a thought.

Hello I’m a first time viewer I’m sorry to hear about your break in but never let them win and keep up the great job you’re doing that I can see I’ll be watching again to see the progress you both do. Ivan

I second what a lot of other people have said - don't get rid of the bricks just yet! They make a handy border or raised bed wall that warms up faster than the rest of the ground would 🌞

Amazing work everyone you now have a fantastic clean slate to grow on. Not having anything can sometimes be a godsend but ohh you just want to smack them. Good call on the nets we don’t want things drowning in there 🤢. Yep it’s rhubarb and a good time to split rhubarb 💪💪. Ours is huge but we don’t actually eat it. Have a great week head, keep warm, Ali 🥶🥶🇨🇦

you increase your Rhubarb plants by splitting the crown - also take root cuttings - make sure that you use lots of horse manure where you plant it for the future.
When I dug up my last Rhubarb (now living in 2 of my daughters gardens) it had roots that where 12 feet long quite deep under ground, that was after been on the spot for 18 years, the plant was moved to that spot when I dug up the Rhubarb and split the crown from its previous spot, it had stood in that position for 20 years, so the plants now growing in my daughters garden are actually ~40 years old.

Well done on all your hard work. The plot looks enormous. Have you watched Seren`s garden? She took on a very overgrown plot, and in a few months had a beautiful place, with flowers and vegetables. I am looking forward to seeing your future videos.

I'd deffo make a path with the bricks or keep them for holding down nets and fleece.

Now then you two, looking tidy, i certainly think its rhubarb , depending how much you want, but i would put your spade through it to split the root, then dig an hole where you want it to grow, put the orange part of the root facing down in a hole just deep enough to cover the top with 2 or 3 inches of soil, also type into google splitting rhubarb yeh. That nettle tonic your making has a very strong smell to it, and it will needs diluting when you use it. Doing a grand job. All the best Gary n Irene

Now the time to divide rhubarb so it may be OK.

It looks like rhubarb. You can divide it up now to get more plants. Just put the spade through the middle of the root stock and pot them up. They can always over-winter in the shed and once they start to shoot in the spring put a bucket over the top to force the stems.

Looks like rhubarb need to find a place to plant it over the winter that glove could’ve been brought in by a fox😮
