Artist vlog - selling on ebay or etsy - art tips w/ Lachri

In today's vlog I'm sharing my experience with selling artwork on ebay and etsy.

I'm so glad you did this video because I do have an Etsy store as well as my main site. The Etsy fees are high and sales have been very small. If anything I'll probably pare the item variety down in the Etsy store to one media and change my main site to a lower fee one like Weebly. And also expand to a few other venues for print on demand. Fine Art America has nice product quality but like Etsy, an artist can get lost in the crowd. I have also gotten a few nice commissions via FB and still post, even with the constant changes.  I will look into ebay now for sure :) Lisa, I love your YouTube channel because it's so helpful. I had been selling on eBay for the past couple of years, was getting a very good following, but when they had their issue with privacy violations last year, everything went downhill and it seemed like an impossible mountain to climb to get buyers to come back to eBay. I tried again a few months ago and it was terrible. I might give it another spin in the new year and see if things get any better.

I never got on well with Etsy. Fees are far too high (my products back then were just small stickers and cards...so the fee proportion was huge in comparison to the price) and in my few months I'd sold about 4 items.
I started Storenvy last year and I'm getting close to 200 sales now, which is crazy! I love how there's no fee listing. 
But they've introduced sellers fees if you're listed in their own marketplace, so people are getting a bit antsy about it :T
Never thought about selling work on eBay, I use it as a car boot sale for my older stuff hahaha

From your experience... where would you suggest us to sell our art on. Society6, Redbubble, Etsy?

We are cycling around the world and selling our art (painting, art prints, shirts, stickers) would be awesome to sustain us.
