Great teaching! I never looked at the third cross being setup for someone else. A cross we should have been on.

Jesus answered, “My kingdom is not of this world. If my kingdom were of this world, my servants would have been fighting, that I might not be delivered over to the Jews. But my kingdom is not from the world.”
— John 18:36

The truth of what Jesus said really impacted me as I read this verse. If I stop and think about what Jesus said, about His servants defending Him I can imagine legions of angels descending to defend Jesus. As King of Heaven the heavenly beings were (are) His servants. The fact that legions of angels did not descend from heaven and fight was proof Jesus kingdom was not of this world. It was just so plain to me that Jesus is the KING OF HEAVEN.

I am so blessed by this study of John’s gospel. Thank you!

The family of the followers of Jesus Christ is a great big family and we’ve got some weirdos in it. But it’s my family. I belong to Jesus!!! Beautifully said pastor Guzik. I pray that the fear of rejection or persecution/oppression never makes me to deny my savior .

A Jewish convert to Catholicism explained that Jesus' refusal to answer Caiaphas actually protected Caiaphas from sinning, because it was a sin for the High Priest to force a defendant to testify against himself. Wow!
