The Samsung Galaxy Note 7 was one of the most popular phones of 2016. And one of the biggest recalls in world history. The phones were starting on fire. The issue was narrowed down to it being something with the battery itself. But what REALLY went wrong? Did samsung do the right thing in trying to rush the new 'safe' phones to market? Its time to find out.

How do you feel about the Note 7? Will you be buying the Note 8? Do you trust Samsung has finally figured out their battery problems?

"Not because you can hurt yourself - that's totally fine and I don't care about that, but you can hurt someone else or cause damage to someone else's property, and I do care about that" - savage.

People seem to forget the Ford Pinto, they knew full well the cars caught fire but decided is was more cost effective to pay out lawsuits then recall the cars.

These replacement models, which Samsung purportedly classified as being safe, had a prominent marking on their packaging to distinguish them from the first wave of recalled units, and render all software battery indicators with green icons. Samsung was granted special permission by Google to allow this change, as it would normally violate the requirements of the Android Compatibility Definition Document (which must be met to license Google Mobile Services software and Android trademarks) for all status bar icons to only be rendered in white.

I like you, you even mentioned iPhones having some exploding batteries as well. Albeit exponentially lower. Still it feels you have an actually unbiased opinion on tech and i honestly like that. Subscribed!

I wonder how many people were fired because of the Note 7

They should rerelease the Note 7 with new batteries that aren't deflected or made wrong. I bet millions of people would still buy it too if Samsung explains how they fixed it.

It's so disappointing that Samsung fucked up with this phone. It was by far my favorite phone I've ever had. I downgraded to a Note 5 and honestly I hate it. I'd switch to a different phone but I don't think I'd be satisfied with anything on the market right now anyways. Here's to hoping the Note 8 is just as great.

I work in the hotel business and I've met a lot of Samsung engineers, some of them I met in Seoul, and they all said that the issue was known from the start but the heads pushed for an early release to compete with the iPhone. One guy described exactly what you show in this video, layers stuck too close to each other.

I had a Note7 and adored it. Today, I use a Note9 and it works like a dream. The Note7 was my first Note and it broke my heart when they recalled it. The 7 Edge was a poor replacement for it but it held me until the Note9. I still have the original box.
