If you spend much time on the Internet, there’s a decent chance you’ve encountered the name Ebates but might not have looked much further into the service or what it can do. Basically, Ebates enables you to earn cash back when you make purchases on their partner sites. On top of this, the site also offers coupon codes and offers you can use to further save money.

So how does it all work? Let’s take a look at four things you need to know about getting started with Ebates.

One of the great things about Ebates is that you can score a $10 bonus as a new member. However, you will need to do a couple of things before this bonus can be yours. First, you’ll want to select which bonus you’d like: a $10 Walmart gift card or just $10 applied to your Ebates account. After that, you’ll need to spend at least $25 in qualifying purchasing using Ebates within your first 90 days of joining. Once this is completed, your $10 bonus will be applied.

Speaking of bonuses, Ebates also allows you to invite friends and family to the service and earn rewards for doing so. Currently, you can score a $25 bonus for each person you refer using your custom link, which can be found by logging into your Ebates account. However, like with the welcome bonus, this $25 won’t be applied until the person you’re referring makes $25 in qualifying purchases within their first 90 days.

Next up, when it comes to Ebates, there are a few different ways to utilize the service, including visiting their site, using their app, or installing their Chrome browser extension.

While Ebates offers cash back from more than 2,500 sites, you’ll need to ensure that you properly activate offers on Ebates before making your purchases in order for them to qualify. To do this, you can either go to the Ebates site or app, search for the retailer, and click their link to the site to make your purchase. Alternatively, you can install the Ebates browser extension for Chrome that will make the process a little easier.

With the extension activated, you’ll be notified when you arrive at an Ebates partner site and be able to activate your offer from there. Additionally, the extension can be used to quickly access your Ebates account data such as your current balance, custom referral, link and more.

One of the few downsides of Ebates is that you won’t be able to cash in right away because the site only pays out on a quarterly basis.

Ebates refers to their payouts as “Your Big Fat Check.” Unfortunately, these checks (or PayPal transfers) are only sent out once every three months. Currently, these payout dates fall on February 15th, May 15th, August 15th, and November 15th. It’s also important to mention that you’ll need to have at least $5 in cash back in order to receive a payout. Luckily, if you don’t hit this threshold, your balance will be rolled over to the next quarter, allowing you to keep earning.

Finally, it’s important to note that not every item sold on a participating site will be eligible for Ebates cash back

Also excluded from earning cash back are fees such as taxes and shipping costs. So, if you’re trying to compare your Ebates transaction history to your purchase receipt, you’ll want to use the subtotal before these fees are added.

These E bates people have done a very unjustifiable thing to me. They have blocked my account saying that I have violated some terms and conditions. I haven't done anything mischievous; I am sure. So I asked them to explain about what I have done but they didn't give me a direct and clear answer but only repeatedly told that I have violated terms.

I have just started my business in it and they didn't give me my earned cashback also. I totally lost my hope. Please be aware of this company.
