Like you, I can't believe they offer this portable function, this is so fantastic.

Makes it so easy to backup everything, and share it with others, and they have a working system where they can do anything I can do. (Before, I was always worrying "oh boy, if this harddrive stops functioning, how will I be able to get SD to work again exactly the way it did?")

It's a bit of a leap of faith to change a more or less working system for something new.

Based on what you show in your video (and what I have tried out for myself after I installed it myself yesterady, after watching your video), my impression of whoever programmed this is extremely good. It strikes me as really well though through, and, so far, they seemed to have thought about about everything one could wish for.

I love how one can opt in and out of auto updating.
Choose the exact Automatic1111 version to use.
Easily toggle the parameters in the bat file on an off (like xformers, half value etc. on and off.
And put the output generated with comfyui and automatic1111 in the same place, although I havent't tried this yet.

You can use centralized symlink model folder for multiple "packages" webUI.
I didn't use this matrix stuff but I did that for All model, Wildcards and ControlNet model so switching between WebUI a bit less a headache and didn't need to download more stuff when trying out new WebUI.

Is there any way to select a custom folder that Stability Matrix will use for model checkpoints? I have another piece of software for AI generations that allows a custom folder, and I'd like the folder to be shared. Thanks in advance!

The problem os stability Matrix is that they dont support embeddings as the lora so it's a weird moving embedings or copying it :S
