10:46 The MAGI 65 actually has a shortcut for turning it on and off, so you don't need to use the switch under the Caps Lock key. It's FN + ESC for 5 seconds to power on or off.

I am not sure one can recommend the Lofree Flow Lite at this point. The kickstarter delivery keeps getting delayed and the communication style by Lofree is pretty bad. A lot of people have canceled their kickstarter "orders" already.

You totally gotta finish the year with "best keyboard of 2024" lists and best keyboard for black Friday.

Having bought my Air96 v2 (because I needed the full layout for work), I have a couple of thoughts
1. I personally REALLY love the sound of the keyboard with the caveat being I got the "berry" switches for a little extra. Your mileage may vary, but definitely take a listen to the sound tests with all the switches.
2. That being said, the one I have is 35g actuation force, which is a bit lighter than what I was used to before (Mac keyboard) - so I (even now occasionally) double-click(ed) keys one in a while.
3. I really appreciate the options for 60, 75 and 96. With that in mind, the HE may be a desirable pick once it has wireless and 75/96 layouts as options.
4. I never use the Mac/Win switch despite switching between the two systems - I just use a key bind combo to switch between the two because VIA still kind of scares me (not sure how to set macros separately between Windows and Mac).

REDRAGON TL84-B, cheap AF around 35 dollars RN, wireless BT and 2, 4 ghz, hotswap, it came with redragon blues and installed redragon blacks also very cheap, cherry LP keycaps, RGB, Mac and Windows. If you are just curious like me about low profile mechanicals, this is the answer, if you like the experience you may consider expending more. I don't use that much bc it's not ergonomic, but is useful for travel with it.

i got iqunix’s magi65 and i really like it! it is a bit heavier than i would want considering i bring it to uni, but it’s not a big dealbreaker for me

What were the keyboards that didn't make the cut?

In particular, I'm curious about the Redragon K652 Azure as an alternative to NuPhy (and it's going on sale for Black Friday).

Also, while the Logitech PebbleKeys 2 doesn't have an enthusiast typing experience, it's very inexpensive and the battery lasts up to a year).

Dammit, I already bought the Akko Santorini. It's nice, really pretty and all, but, I really wanted a low profile. I didn’t even know it was possible to have HE switches on low-profile keyboards.

I love the MX Mechanical for work. The motion sensor makes a clear difference. Plus it allows to connect to 3 different computers. It's perfect when you work on several computers (like me). Only one keyboard needed, it leaves more space on your desk.

i have been thinking of the NuPhy Air 60 V2 with full arrow keys but now i am in a dilemma with those suggestions. Thorough specific research, thank you for your presentation. Despite preferring cherry like profile for typing and a generous case angle, the reduced front height makes my keypresses a lot easier. Definitely, i despise cramped layouts.

Always felt the mx mechanical mini was slept on as a straight productivity office keyboard - it's convenience, battery life and quick wakeup won me over when I was deciding between it and the air75v1. Looks like there's a lot of new options on the market now.
Unfortunately - iqunix doesn't ship the magi65 to Australia on tmall, and it sounds to be the clear winner so I'll just have to wait until that happens.

I can't speak for the Lofree Flow Lite, but I *definitely* prefer the feel of the non-Lite Lofree Flow 84 (tactile switches) to the Nuphy (with similar tactiles). It's a pricy board, though, so I can understand the Lite getting the nod if it's at all similar in feel. The one criticism I have of the Flow 84 is that the rubber feet didn't last long. At some point I should probably see if I can find some replacements, but as I normally use it on my lap, it's not a huge problem or priority.

Betty what are you favorite budget low profiles? I don’t have much cash to spend on a keyboard and I need a low profile one because I travel a lot.
