Courmayeur Mayor says glacier collapse risk subsiding

The risk of Planpincieux glacier collapsing is subsiding, says the mayor of Courmayeur Stefano Miserocchi. On Wednesday authorities ordered an evacuation amid fears that a vast chunk of the glacier on the slopes of the Mont Blanc massif could plummet amid high temperatures driven by global warming.
