There was a live duel between Joey and Pegasus’ voice actors in character. Pegasus used a Burning Abyss deck. There was a hilarious scene where Joey used Time Wizard, but it was useless since the Burning Abyss monsters are demons and thus ageless.

I like thinking that yugi pulled time wizard, tried to experiment with it, and realized that it is the perfect card for joey gambling addiction

It’s funny, Time Wizard’s effect in the anime implies that Red Eyes dragons have a shorter life span than other dragons. Since Rex’s died after aging 1000 years.

That also implies that Harpies live a super long time, since they didn’t die from the effect, just got cripplingly old.

Time Wizard was Joey's first ace, even before Giltia, Flame Swordsman, Red-Eyes, Gearfried, or Gilford. He used it in every major arc (and even the first Big 5 arc), and in his major duels against his best friend, rival, and love interest.
It really deserves a strong series of support, especially if it can fold in his Dice, and Graverobber.

I get that the concept didn't exist at the time, but giving Thousand Dragon a Dark Sage-like alternate Summoning condition would have been so perfect. It's literally how Thousand Dragon was played in the show, and its almost the one requirement they have for any retrain they make of this strategy in the future.

Arguably one of Joey's best cards. We getting Odion retrains, so my hope for a Mased Beast retrain doesn't seem completely dashed

I really like the idea of againg a monster to create a whole new monster. Time Wizard could have been used to create a whole new sub age type of fusion monster.

"...to age the field state by a thousand years" manages to transform the anime's wacky, over-the-top game logic into something that actually sounds convincing and intriguing. Thank you for that, haha!

The Jinzo archetype does give us the spell card Everlasting Alloy, which can either negate an effect that targets a machine monster you control or make _every_ machine monster you control unable to be destroyed by your opponent's card effects

The obvious options for support would be aging more of Joey's signature cards like Flame Swordsman for example. But I would like to throw in the idea for add traps based on the monsters that suffered from Time Wizards effect like Red-eyes Fossil, Harpy Grannies, and Rusted Barrel Dragon, and they could be trap monster that are summoned to the opponent's field and have different effects that hurt the opponent when destroyed by monster effects(Time Wizard)

2:56 Part of me was always curious on what would've happened if Time Wizard's effect was successful during Joey's duel against Bonz. According to Bandit Keith, if Time Wizard's effect was successful, Bonz's zombie monsters would've been destroyed by its effects, that I already knew. But what would've happened to Joey's Flame Swordsman? Would he feel the effects of Time Magic? And if so, would Flame Swordsman get destroyed due to 1000 years going by, or would he become a newer, elderly, but more powerful version of Flame Swordsman?

The inconsistency of time wizard's appearance is kinda funny.

In the manga it seems like the only solid parts inside time wizard's face is the eyes and clock hands with the rest of the face being see through allowing you to see the cape through it.
however the card artists seemed to have misinterpreted the cape behind time wizard as some kind of purple and yellow backing to the clock. And the anime showed both versions. In the duel with esper roba, you can see that the cape is showing though time wizard's face and is missing the yellow part.
