Rata Novus has Mass Effect vibe. I feel somehow sad and nostalgic. It is marvelous what music can do.

Very ingenious song ! What a pleasure when you hear it in game. This is why gw2 is not "just" a basic Mmorpg

You can feel the magnificence of the place.. and the tragedy. An advanced city of intelligence, annihilated and abandoned. Masterful composition.

Probably one of my fav tracks of the xpack. It really captures this feeling of loneliness, ruin and being forgotten which is perfect for Rata Novus. I might not be a fan of current day asura, but I think the old school asura stuff is pretty neat.

Damn this track gave me absolute goosebumps first time I heard it. The echoing piano medley perfectly captures the sheer expanse of the cave system that you are exploring when you discover rata novus, I almost picture it as a slight disturbance or shudder on the surface causes a single drop of water to drop into the cave system, causing a tiny splash to ring though the empty asuran halls.

This song just pulls all the right strings. There is something simple yet complex about it. The strings and simple piano arrangement evoke stroke emotion and a sense of wonder and adventure. It does so much with so little. Easily one of the best pieces of GW2 music. One of my favorite tracks from a video game period. I can't help but feel like there is more to this track that it continues on and I so badly want it to when its over.

When I first heard they weren't using Jeremy Soule I was disappointed but GW2 has benefited from the work done by their new composers. Superb work.

This track perfectly sets the atmosphere for the area, and it's so deep. I love it so much.

I actually get a strong Sci-Fi feel from this, which I think is at least a little fitting considering how technologically advanced the Asura are.

To me, this will always be the Mistlock Sanctuary music. I spend much more time there, and this is one of the two tracks that plays. It's a lovely place.

Best piece of this expansion imo, what a pity it's used randomly only in Rata Novus and not in the story, lots of people will miss it.

The obstinato is the abandoned machinery on empty space, the "two notes" part that appears later i feel as water drops, increasing the loneliness. Lastly the strings tell us the story of might and loss. This is my feeling about. Master piece

Although I have not played the game (please forgive me) I have always been a massive fan of Jeremy Soule's musical compositions for various games including Guild Wars. Which is how I came to stumble across this arrangement, although not a piece of Soule's work it is equally amazing.

Ironically I found this piece of music while I was going through an extremely dark, and difficult time in my life. I had lost the best friend that I have ever known in a way that was both unexpected and traumatic. The whole sequence of events seemed to have been carefully, and diligently orchestrated with the sole purpose of breaking me. And break me it almost did.
This arrangement so perfectly captured the way I felt during that time in my life. The inexpressible sorrow, anguish and pain. The deep and haunting loneliness and the devastating guilt. And fluttering around in all of that darkness, notes of beauty and bittersweet happiness...the memories of a very special friend that I knew would never be replaced.
I'd like to think I owe a little something to this song for pulling through that time.

Guild Wars music is incredible. The first game's music made me realize just how important music was for a game and then hearing a lot of those old songs in guild wars 2 hit with such nostalgia, so good. Even in guild wars 2 the original and new songs are just so good. Not every game can have great music but when a game does it really elevates the experience.

I really love this song. I've been having it on repeat lately. There is sorrow and yet hope and curiosity mixed in. That is exactly how I feel right now in real life. Sometimes the despair overpowers the hope.

Could you imagine if this was used in a scene where Braham finds Eir's body or something?

Putting my money where my mouth is.

Eir's storyline is wrapped up. Made peace with Braham, restored Destiny's Edge, took down Zhaitan. So time to move on from her.
Braham finds Eir dead or dying.
He grieves but remains stoic.
He takes up his mother's bow and becomes the Dragonhunter.
