Great video Kyle, I always buy from my local Dive shop. Sometimes they may not have, or cannot get what I need but even then they will give me referrals as to where I can find it. Since I've veen going there, the owner and I have become very good friends. The perks I recieve are amazing, I have even been
invited to exotic dive sites free of charge. But the main benefit is that they know me and my dive profile thereby they can advise me as to what gear I need, or how to advice. The name of my Dive Shop is " The Scuba Shop" located in Spartanburg SC. And is staffed with great instructors who actually care about their students and go out of the way to be sure they have safe and fun dives.

I have had a couple of incidents where my dive shop saved my butt that would have never been possible had I purchased the gear through a mail order company.

1) On my Ikelite camera housing, I had purchased a wide angle lens that would not screw onto the lens port. I took it back to the dive shop, Groundhog Divers, where the owner verified it and sent that lens and the lens port to Ikelite. Within a very short period of time, everything was back and operational, in time for an upcoming dive trip.

2) This past April, I had purchased a new dive computer, looking forward to testing it in Bonaire. Two days before the trip, a part broke on the charging cable, which would have rendered the computer useless once the battery inside it ran out. I needed that cable replaced pronto. The same dive shop owner had me a new cable airshipped from the manufacturer and I had it the next morning. Saved that part of my dive trip.

Had I encountered either of these two situations via a mail order shop, I would definitely not have had the turnaround that I got with Groundhog Divers.
