They picked the right white actor. Someone still on the rise and WANTING to put forth the effort without relying on big names. I’m so glad he’s speaking and writing in Japanese. These layers build beautiful stories.

Everything about this series is great the music; the opening; the characters
The actors, the way it is filmed. The era late 90's Japan.
💯 A must watch. Don't listen to those people who said it is slow at the. beginning, it is absolutely not slow
I did not enjoy a series this much since Mr.Robot.
Just finished it today. I want to know what's happening next. (the feeling of not knowing is killing. And no, I don't want to read the book.)

My mate just showed me this whilst we were staying over at his girls place for the night after Denzels concert and we binged the whole 7eps that were out in one sitting absolutely brilliant such an interesting show I've always been fond/curious about the Yakuza in Japan so it's dope getting a show based around it that somewhat what follows a true story so it's like a sub documentary/drama crime thriller with astonishing acting and great cinematography!

"I had to learn the whole Hiragana Alphabet."
Literally takes about 2 weeks to learn Hiragana, there's less than 50 of them.
There's 50 Katakana and 2200 Kanji after that. They use 4 alphabets in Japan.
Regardless, ive heard him speak Japanese in other interviews and his progress in the language is impressive, they must have filmed this bit earlier on in his learning.
