Gelli Plate Printing Techniques On Tissue Paper

Показать описание
Exploring gelli plate printing techniques using Tissue Paper which can also be used for Chine Colle, a printmaking technique in which the image is transferred onto a surface that is bonded onto a heavier support in the printing process. One purpose is to allow the printmaker to print on a much more delicate surface, such as Japanese paper or linen, that pulls finer details off the plate. Another purpose is to provide a background colour behind the image that is different from the surrounding backing sheet.

The paper used for the collage were pieces of tissue paper that I previously printed on. I want to explore this technique going forward so look for more videos on this techniqe this week.

I really like the idea of using tissue paper. I’m fairly new to gelli printing and I really love it.
What do you use the tissue paper for? I think they would look cool decoupaged into a journal.

Hi Tina, I have just found your channel so am catching up. Is that wet strength tissue paper or a special type? We cannot get wet strength here in Australia so I’d be pleased to find you can use ordinary tissue paper, many thanks
