How to Import Products to WooCommerce

You have installed and configured the WooCommerce plugin on your WordPress site. Now, how will you import products to your store and showcase them in front of your customers? In this video let us check how to import products to your WooCommerce website.

There are two ways you can go about it — either use the built-in product CSV importer in WooCommerce or install a third-party plugin. Both of these options are just as easy and quick to import products to WooCommerce, with the only difference being some added features in the plugin.

We are describing both ways in this video.

Great video thank you! on of the main issues that i have with the .csv is that there are many commas (, ) and tabs in the data, and this mess up the whole process as a text like this "Good morning America, peace" would translate in 2 columns if there is the comma delimiter! How do you overcome this? Thank you !!

Hi, thank you for informative teachings. For CSV Import of the Product ID field, you suggest the following format: 100, SKU101 - would this format be used for every row in the CSV upload ID field?, or would the 2nd row be 100, SKU102 & 3rd row be 100, SKU103 etc? Also would this ID field format be restricted to 999 rows being only 3 characters?

Can one use a CSV file of products, stock levels etc., which is available from a supplier online. The supplier updates the product data as required periodically and makes it available to his commercial vendors at a URL where the vendor must enter a unique code. The CSV can be manually downloaded in this way but then one still must manually upload it to the Wordpress/WooCommerce installation of the vendor. The main criteria we require to frequently update is stock levels and availability at the supplier so as to avoid disappointment to users of the store when ordering.

My question is, can the data be dynamically accessed and automatically be made to carry out the updates needed, perhaps triggered using a Cron Job? I understand that the mechanism could be a SOAP or REST implementation but have no idea how that works. Any suggestions?

Thanks for the video. I have an existing store so I have downloaded the CSV spreadsheet directly from woocomerce. However when I make modifications and I try to save it, excel gives me the message where CSV is not compatible. Do you know why?
