Never owned a pickup truck but really thinking about it. A midsize truck makes more sense for my lifestyle, but the trucks I look at and get excited about are full size

The absolute main reason to buy a mid-size over a full size is going off-road. The mid-size trucks are just more capable off-road.

This may sound like a joke, but I'm comparing a 2024 Nissan Titan Pro 4x to a 2024 Jeep Gladiator Mojave. I love a full size truck when taking people and towing. But, I don't do that very often. Usually it is just my wife and I. I have some trails I want to use to get to some remote fishing locations. But, I don't NEED to get there in my truck. I can hike. I have a F-150 now. It gets us just about anywhere we have wanted to go. I just have this idea that if I go with a midsize Gladiator I might do more adventuring. I really like the Titan, and you can get a great deal on one now. This is really perplexing to me which way to go.

Great video it's nice how you explain clearly the differences. And never apologize for being a great Father and Husband.

I have a Tacoma with 6 ft bed. Love it! Does everything I need it for and easy to park.

When Sierra showed up I didn't hear another word you said. She's adorable. I got a lot out of the video. It helped me to make a decision. Thanks.

Exceptional video chocked full of the critical information regarding mid-size vs. full-size truck information. I also really appreciate your comments regarding payload being the critical variable when towing. Towing is more than tow capacity. We own a small camper, 2005 Casita 17 Freedom Deluxe, that only weighs 2900 lbs. We love the maneuverability of our 2009 Kia Borrego V8 mid-size SUV and Casita. However, I would like to get a pickup truck in the next couple of years. I recognize the value of the full-size truck, plus if we ever decide to get a slightly larger camper, we would already have the truck to tow it. On the other hand, many midsize trucks will handle our Casita and we prefer the dimensions, size, and drivability of a mid-size. LOL, I go back and forth! ;) BTW, Sierra is adorable. Don’t blink, they grow up fast. My girls are 27 and 24 and are currently FaceTiming since one lives at home and the other about 1, 000 miles away.

I wouldn't trade my late 90s Ranger for anything. Small reliable truck with a long bed. Unbeatable

Your daughter so cute ! I loved how you included her in the end . Even if it was by accident . Lol. This has happened to every father . Lol. I’m sometimes on a phone call with a client and my son decides he wants to scream and cry at the top of his lungs …..just as he wakes up . Lol.

Pretty much the conclusion I came up with my research. Though its blown my mind why no company that has been able to get a midsize truck get over 30mpg and maintain its tow rating. I watched people take 1.9 diesel motors and stuff them into rangers and Tacoma's. They were getting mid 30s while towing a utility trailer. Maybe I Should do this lol.

My buddy got a 2019 Nissan Titan Pro 4X with low miles less than most popular midsize trucks and jeeps.

Good video. I bought my Ford Ranger Lariat Tremor because of its smaller size and it’s towing capability. It’s a little towing monster. It also has a gas turbo which is going to be hands down the best mid-sized option when I explore the eastern seaboard. Once again loved the video

Great video, , I traded my 2019 ram rebel for a 2018 Tacoma and kinda miss my old truck… but I’m still liking the taco

Base model Ranger is just over 2000 lbs payload. It drops slightly with more options, but this is probably the reason that many people find the Ranger rides stiffer than many other trucks in the segment, because of its high payload.

I guess I'm more for my lifestyle than what has the better towing and/or payload numbers. I had a '10 Dakota with the 3.7l v6, 4-speed auto (I sold her so my family could have a house in a different state from where we were living at the time :(). I'd definitely agree that she wasn't as good of a value (vs. a fullsize ram 1500), she managed up to 22 mpg on the highway (and could tow ~5k lbs, 1800 lbs. payload). I definitely appreciate the smaller size for maneuverability and parking reasons, but she was only the extended cab version (6.5' bed), so she wasn't ideal for family at all. I miss that truck, but would love to get another one (with a crew cab though) or an ecodiesel gladiator (if I could afford it) as a first option. For lack of bed space, I have a 5' x 8' trailer. :)

Just discovered your channel and subbed. The full-size vs midsize debate has been on my mind a lot recently. I purchased a 2020 Nissan Frontier Pro-4x which I love and is perfect for my lifestyle because I enjoy going off-roading and it's a great daily driver too. But man I do like the looks of the new Nissan Titan and that V8 sounds so good lol. I just don't haul or tow anything to justify having one. Your video put my mind at ease (for now) and I'll stick with my Frontier. Maybe one day if I get a camper to tow I'll buy a Titan. Thanks for the great video!
